Our Mission
Cloud computing has transformed how businesses build and scale technology. But with this transformation came complexity — especially around pricing. AWS offers 750+ instance types, Azure has 700+, and GCP adds hundreds more. Each provider uses different naming conventions, pricing structures, and discount models.
CloudMetrics exists to cut through this complexity. We provide a single, unified interface where you can specify your requirements and instantly see equivalent options across all three major providers with accurate, up-to-date pricing.
Who Created CloudMetrics
CloudMetrics was created by Alberto Gil Vicente, a software engineer with experience in cloud infrastructure and web development. The project was born from the real-world frustration of having to juggle multiple pricing calculators and spreadsheets when evaluating cloud providers for client projects.
What started as an internal tool quickly grew into a public resource. The goal has always been to keep CloudMetrics free, transparent, and genuinely useful for the cloud computing community.
How CloudMetrics Works
Our platform aggregates pricing data from the official APIs of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. When you specify your requirements, our matching algorithm finds the closest equivalent instances from each provider and presents a side-by-side comparison.
Key features include:
- Real-time pricing data: Regularly updated from official provider APIs
- Intelligent matching: Finds equivalent instances across providers based on your CPU, memory, and storage needs
- Multiple pricing models: Compare on-demand, reserved, and spot pricing side by side
- 100+ regions: Full coverage of all major cloud regions worldwide
- Storage cost inclusion: Add SSD or HDD storage to see total monthly costs
- Excel upload: Bulk-compare your entire infrastructure by uploading a spreadsheet

Independence and Transparency
CloudMetrics is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Our comparisons are objective and based solely on publicly available pricing data.
We don't have referral agreements or affiliate relationships with any cloud provider. When we link to provider pricing pages, it's purely for your reference — we don't earn commissions on cloud signups.
Official Pricing Sources
We obtain our pricing data directly from these official sources:
